近日，32歲的俄羅斯網(wǎng)球名將，五屆大滿貫（Grand Slam）女單冠軍得主，莎拉波娃（Maria Sharapova）通過社交媒體宣布正式退役。大家知道，外國人非常喜歡做戶外運動，因此在雅思聽力考試中，休閑娛樂場景在part1和part2中一直都是極為高頻的。所以今天給大家?guī)硪黄P(guān)于世界第二大運動網(wǎng)球的一篇文章，講解一下知識點，最后會附上一個休閑娛樂場景詞匯

Maria Sharapova has announced that she is retiring from tennis with immediate effect.
The 32-year-old Russian enjoyed a glittering career that saw her complete a career Grand Slam, win 36 WTA titles, and spend 21 weeks as WTA World No.1.
glittering
1）表示“輝煌的；成功的”，英文解釋為“very impressive and successful”舉個例子：
He has a glittering career ahead of him.
他前程似錦。
2）表示“盛大的；華麗的；眾星云集的”，英文解釋為“very impressive and involving rich and successful people，如：a glittering array of stars 眾星云集的盛大場面；
3）表示“燦爛奪目的；閃閃發(fā)光的”，英文解釋為“shining brightly with many small flashes of light”，如：glittering jewels 璀璨的寶石。
title
作名詞，熟詞僻義，表示“（體育比賽的）第一名，冠軍”，英文解釋為“the position you get by beating all other competitors in a sports competition”舉個例子：
He won the heavyweight boxing title in 2019.
他贏得了2019年重量級拳擊冠軍。
Her first major success arrived as a 17-year-old at Wimbledon in 2004 and was followed by the US Open title two years after that. Another two years on, in 2008, she triumphed at the Australian Open before a pair of French Open victories arrived in 2012 and 2014.
注：此段中幾處Open都表示”公開賽“的意思。
triumph
1）作動詞，表示“成功；獲勝”，英文解釋為“If someone or something triumphs, they gain complete success, control, or victory, often after a long or difficult struggle.”舉個例子：
All her life, she had stuck with difficult tasks and challenges, and triumphed.
她在一生中遭遇了種種艱巨任務(wù)與挑戰(zhàn)，但成功了。
2）作名詞，表示“勝利；成就”，英文解釋為“A triumph is a great success or achievement, often one that has been gained with a lot of skill or effort.”舉個例子：
The championships proved to be a personal triumph for the coach.
那些冠軍稱號證明了教練的個人成就。
3）作名詞，不可數(shù)，表示“（成功或勝利的）喜悅”，英文解釋為“Triumph is a feeling of great satisfaction and pride resulting from a success or victory.”舉個例子：
Her sense of triumph was short-lived.
她喜悅的感覺是短暫的。

quit
1）表示“辭去；辭職”，英文解釋為“If you quit, or quit your job, you choose to leave it.”舉個例子：
He quit his job as an office boy.
他辭去了辦公室勤雜員的工作?！?/p>
2）表示“停止”，英文解釋為“If you quit an activity or quit doing something, you stop doing it.”舉個例子：
A nicotine spray can help smokers quit the habit.
一種尼古丁噴劑可以幫助吸煙者戒煙。
3）表示“徹底離開”，英文解釋為“If you quit a place, you leave it completely and do not go back to it.”舉個例子：
Science fiction writers have long dreamed that humans might one day quit the earth to colonize other planets.
科幻小說作家們長期以來一直夢想著人類有一天可以離開地球移居到其它星球上。
outline
1）表示“概述”，英文解釋為“If you outline an idea or a plan, you explain it in a general way.”舉個例子：
He outlined his plan to clean up the town's image.
他概述了他清理整頓該市形象的計劃。
2）表示“映襯出…的輪廓”，英文解釋為“You say that an object is outlined when you can see its general shape because there is light behind it.”舉個例子：
The Ritz was outlined against the lights up there.
里茲酒店的輪廓被上方的燈光映襯了出來。
“Tennis—I’m saying goodbye,” she wrote.
“In giving my life to tennis, tennis gave me a life. I’ll miss it everyday. lace
1）表示“系…的帶子”，英文解釋為“If you lace something such as a pair of shoes, you tighten the shoes by pulling the laces through the holes, and usually tying them together.”舉個例子：
I have a good pair of skates, but no matter how tightly I lace them, my ankles wobble.
我有一雙很好的溜冰鞋，但是無論我把鞋帶系得多么緊，我的腳踝還是在里面晃蕩。
2）表示“在（食物、飲料）中添加”，英文解釋為“To lace food or drink with a substance such as alcohol or a drug means to put a small amount of the substance into the food or drink.”舉個例子：
He laced his food with sleeping pills.
他在他的食物里加了安眠藥。
court
court一詞除了表示”法庭；法院“，還有很多意思，我們來一網(wǎng)打盡：
1）表示“球場”，英文解釋為“A court is an area in which you play a game such as tennis, basketball, badminton, or squash.”舉個例子：
The hotel has several tennis and squash courts.
該旅館有幾個網(wǎng)球場和壁球場。
2）表示“王宮”，英文解釋為“The court of a king or queen is the place where he or she lives and carries out ceremonial or administrative duties.”舉個例子：
She came to visit England, where she was presented at the court of James I.
她來訪問英格蘭，在詹姆斯一世的王宮受到了接見。
3）作動詞，表示“討好; 取悅”，英文解釋為“To court a particular person, group, or country means to try to please them or improve your relations with them, often so that they will do something that you want them to do.”舉個例子：
Both parties are courting former supporters.
雙方都在討好以前的支持者。
4）作動詞，表示“設(shè)法獲得”，英文解釋為“If you court something such as publicity or popularity, you try to attract it.”舉個例子：
Having spent a lifetime avidly courting publicity, he has suddenly become secretive.
花了一生的時間狂熱地追求出名之后，他突然變得遮遮掩掩起來了。
5）作動詞，表示“招致”，英文解釋為“If you court something unpleasant such as disaster or unpopularity, you act in a way that makes it likely to happen.”舉個例子：
If he thinks he can remain in power by force, he is courting disaster.
如果他認(rèn)為可以通過武力維持權(quán)力的話，那就是在招災(zāi)惹禍。
bench
bench常用的意思是”長椅“，這里補(bǔ)充兩個意思：
1）表示“（場邊的）運動員休息區(qū)”，常以單數(shù)形式出現(xiàn)，且多用與體育領(lǐng)域，英文解釋為“the seats where players sit when they are not playing in the game.”
2）表示“法官；法官席位”，英文解釋為“In a court of law, the bench is the judge or magistrates.”舉個例子：
The chairman of the bench adjourned the case until March 1.
首席法官將該案延至到3月1日。
“Looking back now, I realize that tennis has been my mountain. My path has been filled with valleys and detours, but the views from its peak were incredible. After 28 years and five Grand Slam titles, though, I’m ready to scale another mountain—to compete on a different type of terrain.”
detour
detour /?di?t??/ 表示“繞行的路；迂回路；兜圈子”，英文解釋為“a longer route that you take in order to avoid a problem or to visit a place”舉個例子：
We had to make a detour around the flooded fields.
我們只得繞道避開被洪水淹沒的田野。
scale
作動詞，表示“攀登；到達(dá)…頂點”，英文解釋為“to climb to the top of sth very high and steep”，如：the first woman to scale the world's highest peaks第一位登上世界最高峰的女性。
While Sharapova has not revealed her immediate plans, she has outlined the pleasures that she is eager to enjoy.
“There are a few simple things I’m really looking forward to: A sense of stillness with my family. Lingering over a morning cup of coffee. Unexpected weekend getaways. Workouts of my choice (hello, dance class!),” she said.
getaway
1）表示“（尤指犯罪后或逃避某人的）逃跑”，英文解釋為“If someone makes a getaway, they leave a place quickly, especially after committing a crime or when trying to avoid someone.”舉個例子：
They made their getaway on a stolen motorcycle.
他們騎上一輛偷來的摩托車逃掉了。
2）表示“短期休假”，英文解釋為“A getaway is a short holiday somewhere.”舉個例子：
Weekend tours are ideal for families who want a short getaway.
周末旅行對于想要短期休假的家庭來說非常理想。
workout
表示“體育鍛煉；體育訓(xùn)練”，英文解釋為“A workout is a period of physical exercise or training.”舉個例子：
Give your upper body a workout by using it.
用它鍛煉一下你的上半身。
“Tennis showed me the world—and it showed me what I was made of. It’s how I tested myself and how I measured my growth. And so in whatever I might choose for my next chapter, my next mountain, I’ll still be pushing. I’ll still be climbing. I’ll still be growing.”
